Darrell J. Jones, age 85 of Delton, passed away on April 29, 2022. Darrell was born on November 3, 1936 in Barry County to Guy and Leona Jones. He worked for Stafford Smith as a pipe fitter for 25 years. Darrell loved his draft horses and was involved in many organizations and activities involving them. He belonged to the Draft Horse Association and enjoyed participating in the Barry County Fair and Delton Founder's Weekend parade. He enjoyed snowmobiling and served as a past president of the Delton Drift Dodgers. Darrell also enjoyed working with many different species of birds. He could often be found dining at either of his favorite establishments, Bowen's or Tujax. Darrell was a kind man with a unique sense of humor and an infectious laugh. He will be dearly missed by his loving family, including daughter Lori Hayes; grandchildren: Amanda (Derek) Bloomfield, Traftin (Maggie Duncan) Harris, Briana Jones, Ashley (Tyler) Bolen, Justin (Autumn) Jones, Nichole Hayes; great-grandchildren: July and Haven; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his dear wife, Beverly, in 2021; son, Gus Robert Bryan Jones; parents; sister: Bonnie Jones. A graveside service will be held on May 14, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at Union Cemetery.
