Brown, Nelson Frederick 6/17/27 – 3/28/22 Fred Brown, 94 of Jackson passed away Monday, March 28, 2022 at the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home. He was born June 17th, 1927 in Climax County, Kalamazoo to Harvey D. and Mary M. Brown. Fred was preceded in death by both his parents and siblings, Faye, Margie, Harvey, Clara, Cora, and his wife of 42 years, Norma Jean. He was also preceded in death by his son, Daniel and step-son, Alan. Fred will be remembered as being a loving husband, father, grandfather and will be missed by many friends that all knew and loved him. He worked for Melling Co., ran sales for the Tile & Carpet Center for many years before he retired. He retired doing what he loved most, which was his auto business, Brownie's Auto which he ran with his grandson, Vernon Craft. In addition, he also owned many houses that he leased out for years. Fred lived a long life and is survived by two children: Theresa Prendel (Vern), and Mike Brown. Five step-children: Sandy (Roscoe) Craft, Debbie (Carl) Brashares, Julie (Ken) Frankhouse, Carol Glover (Randy) and Randy Mannor. Ten Grandchildren: Vernon, Mark, Steve (Shanna) Craft. Corey Mannor, Chasity and Cari Thompson, Rob (Kathleen) Sutherby, Josh (Amber) Glover. Mike Brown Jr. and Chad Brown. He also has many great grandkids and great great grandkids. He is also survived by nieces and nephews. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A service will be held at the Hillcrest Chapel on Saturday, April 23rd at 3 p.m.
