Willard Floyd "Tex" Turner was born on Saturday; January 29, 1921 in Vega; Oldham County, Texas. He was the son of: Oscar Floyd and Laura Isabel [Larson] Turner. He attended the Vega Community Schools graduating from the Vega High School with the class of 1939. After High School he worked for Cooper Manufacturing Company in Marshalltown; Marshall County, Iowa until on Wednesday; September 2, 1942, Willard enlisted with the United States Army serving in France as a platoon Sergeant leading a platoon of riflemen and also served one year as First Sergeant of the 360th Reinforcement Company, 3rd Depot, being honorably discharged on Wednesday; April 1, 1946. On Sunday; June 15, 1947 Willard was united in marriage to Clara Blanche Case at the Little Brown Church in Nashua; Chickasaw County; Iowa. To this union two children were born: Martin and Marlene. He was a salesman for Central Petroleum Company serving in Hardin, Franklin, and Butler Counties until he retired in 1994. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Iowa Falls, and The Loyal Order of Moose Lodge # 1331, Iowa Falls. Willard Floyd "Tex" Turner, age 86, of Iowa Falls, Iowa passed away on Friday; December 28, 2007 at Scenic Manor Care Facility in Iowa Falls; Hardin County, Iowa. Those left to mourn his passing are: His wife: Clara Turner also of the Scenic Manor Care Facility in Iowa Falls, Iowa. His son: Martin [Sandra] Turner of Iowa Falls, Iowa. His daughter: Marlene F. [Donald] Huggins of Belleville; Saint Clair County, Illinois. His one granddaughter: Kimberly Alexander of Cedar Falls, Iowa and his one sister: Lorene Whitehead of Boise, Ada County, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents: Oscar and Laura Turner. His one grandson: Jason R. Huggins; His one brother and a sister-in-law: Leo Vernon and Edna Turner and an infant sister. May they rest in peace. There will be no visitation. Memorial services will begin at: 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday; January 2, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church in Iowa Falls, Iowa. Inurnment will be at the Union Cemetery, Iowa Falls. For condolences, please visit the funeral home's website.
