Another article on 25 November 1885 stated: "The wedding bells are ringing, and Herman Haase, formerly of this place, has captured one of our prettiest girls. They will make Missouri their future home. A gay time was had by all the guests."
Sadly less than three years later, Herman Haase died on 15 October 1888 in Carroll County, Missouri. According to the Letters of Administration in his Probate File his name is spelled Haas , and he was survived by his wife Lucy Haas, his son Otto Haas two years old, and his daughter Clara Haas two months old. His burial place is unknown.
Louisa (nee Bruner) Haase later married Richard B. Phillips and they were the parents of Leo, Lena, Aaron, Ella Mae, Linda and Bertha Phillips.
