Marshville – John Henry Parker, Jr., 90, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Brookdale Assisted living in Monroe.

Born July 13, 1931 in Anson County, he was a son of
John Henry Parker, Sr. (1882-1974)
Lillie Pickett Moore Parker (1891–1948)
Marriage: 27 Apr 1913 Union, NC

John was also preceded in death by his wife,
Elizabeth Ann "Cookie" Williams Parker (1942-1964)
Brother, Lane DeVore Parker (1924-2012)
Sister, Helen Parker Kelman (1921-2011)

Ronald Lane Parker
Philip Kelman

He served in the US Army during the Korean War as a mechanic and received two battle stars.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of John will be 11 AM Wednesday by the graveside of Rocky Mount Baptist Church. The family will receive friends following by the grave.

Memorials can be made to Rocky Mount Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2043 Blonnie Ross Road, Polkton, NC 28135.

Mr. Parker is survived by a nephew, Douglas S. Parker and his wife Charlene.
