FRANZ J. FRIED Terre Haute Tribune Friday January 12, 1917 The funeral of Franz J. Fried, 91 years old, one of the first land owners in Vigo county, who died Thursday afternoon at his home, 1436 Tippecanoe street, will be held Monday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Benedict's church with interment in St. Joseph's cemetery. He was one of the first parishers of the St. Benedict's church and was charter members of the old St. Francis society. He was born in Byron, Germany, in 1825 and came to American in 1846. He retired from farming about forty years ago and has been living at the present residence since that time. He is survivied by two sons, Frank R., of Mena, Ark., and Lawrence, and five daughters, Mrs. Fred Woehrner, Mrs Fred J. Heidenger, Mrs. Willia Freudenreich, Mrs. Amelia Katz and Mrs. Robert Vrydaugh, all of the city. He is also survived by forty-one grand children and forty-one great grandchildren.
