Robert Stanley Bennett, 98, of Sun City West, Arizona, died on April 29, 2022 after a period of declining health.

Robert was born on March 29, 1924 in Junior, West Virginia. He was the first of five children born to Stanley and Bertha Bennett.

After high school, Robert served in the US Navy for three years as Bugle master 3rd Class. He graduated from West Virginia University, Morgantown, West Virginia in 1948 with a degree in Business Administration. Robert was an employee of the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company of WV (now Verizon) for 37 years until his retirement. During his time with the telephone company, he worked in and was a resident of Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, Colorado as well as spending a year in Iran.

After his retirement, Robert established Telephone Accounting and Training Services that offered telephone accounting principles and procedures to the various telephone companies around the country.

Robert authored two books. The story of Bobtown, The Road to the Top of the Hill and The Other Vicki, a story about an identical twin separated at birth.

Robert had a life-long love of music and led several choral groups including Director of the Westernaires eighty voice singing group chorus for three years, singing tenor in Sun City West's Men's Glee Club, and director of the Shriner's choral unit for approximately ten years.

Preceding Robert in death in addition to his parents, are his wife Mable Ruth Ann Bennett, his sisters LaVerne Thomas and Phyllis Booth; his brothers Edward Bennett and Stanley Bennett; his daughter, Joan Kirby, and his great grandson, Christian Hill Jr.

Robert is survived by his son, Thomas Bennett (Susan) of Wendell, NC; grandchildren: Heather Hill (Nicolas Chaves) of Sarasota, FL, Christian Hill (Tina) of Hurricane, WV, Jeremy Hill (Elizabeth) of Plaistow, NH, and Eric Bennett (Kelly) of Wendell, NC. He is also survived by five great grandchildren, and three great, great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by his long-time companion Marion Rivera who has been his loving life partner over the last 10 years.
