Obituary
John Andrew Nash was born on October 5, 1953, in San Francisco to the late John Nash and Tonita Mares. John lived throughout the city and attended various schools graduating from Balboa High School before joining the Marines at 17. John served proudly for 4 years and trained as an electrician.

After John was discharged from the Marines he worked primarily in Southern California before moving back permanently to San Francisco. John made many friends and created a lot of his own tools working at the shipyards, Hyatt Embarcadero, Port of Oakland, and finally Sutter Hospital before retiring in 2020 and moving to Sacramento.
During this time John was also training in the martial arts and was fortunate enough to train under Great Grandmaster Rick Alemany for over 40 years earning a 7th Degree Black Belt.

John also opened his own martial arts school, Northern Tiger Kenpo, around 2002, in San Francisco's Sunset District. With his new space, John was eager and always willing to throw a party or a BBQ or allow someone to crash for the night or several nights if necessary. John loved being able to help and support others to be and do their best. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend, and teacher.

Following a short illness, John found peace on Friday, April 22nd, 2022. John is survived by his wife Michelle, his son Sammy and wife Jacqueline, 2 granddaughters (Viviana & Isabel), his siblings William (Billy), Jimmy, Kevin, Elizabeth (Lisa), Jessica, Anita, Janness, Angela, and many nieces, nephews and family members that loved him and will miss him deeply.
