Patricia Ann Coleman
March 16, 1946 - May 1, 2022

"Patricia Ann Coleman was born on March 16, 1946, in Columbia, South Carolina. She was the younger sister to Mary Lillian, who preceded her in death, and an older sister to brother Andrew. Sharing her life with her northern and southern families; she was a loving aunt to her many nieces, nephews and a beautiful sister, cousin, and friend to many others. Pat, affectionately known as "Tish" to husband Charles Coleman was a wife for over 39 years, a mother to Courtenay, La Shaun, and Charlette, and a grandmother to Bryant, Brandon, Tyler, Kiara, and Kayla. She was a woman of legacy and lineage and one of the last matriarchs of her generation. Pat was a wise and wonderful woman, simple and gracious. She spent most of her adult life in New York. Having settled in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and finally Queens, she built her resumé upon great experiences, making friends along the way. A faithful woman, she was a member of Solid Rock Church of Christ in Brooklyn, New York for many years. Pat moved to Delaware in October of 2007 to retire only to be widowed months later. Despite many hardships, she continuously found strength and love in family. Always a caring giver, Pat was generous and kind, helpful and sympathetic. In multiple seasons, she took care of infirmed family members with grace and compassion. Even when her own health was failing, she never complained. Despite fighting a good fight, Pat lost her earthly battle with cancer on May 1, 2022, and went home to be with the Lord at her home, surrounded by love, with her children by her side. Among many special memories, Pat will be fondly remembered by those who chatted with her, prayed with her, shared coffee with her, encouraged her, held her hand, tucked her in, hugged, kissed, laughed, cried, and by those with whom she lived, who provided meticulous daily care without whose selfless dedication offered her the best quality of life under the circumstances. Pat was truly loved.
