CHARLES' OBITUARY
U.S. Veteran
Charles H. Thompson, 81, passed away in Oklahoma City, OK, on Saturday, April 9, 2022. Charles was born to Floyd and Effie Thompson in Oklahoma City, OK, on June 28, 1940. A lifelong resident of Oklahoma, he attended Putnam City Schools where he met his high school sweetheart Barbara Coley. They shared 63 years of marriage and passed away within two days of each other. Charles served his country in the United States Navy for 4 years, where he worked in the boiler-room calling out orders from the captain and working on the ship, receiving a good conduct medal. He then had a successful career as an oil field on site supervisor. A man with many talents, Charles was able to work on anything and enjoyed helping others with their projects.

Charles was preceded in death by his father and mother, Floyd and Effie Thompson; brother, Sonny, and sister, Julie.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Thompson (who passed away on April 11, 2022); daughters, Christina Nickel and husband Mark, and Susan Trail and husband Randy; granddaughters, Katherine Russell and husband Sean, and Amanda Trail, and a great-granddaughter Heather Russell.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 22, 2022, at the Bethany Cemetery, Bethany, OK.
