He was born on March 17, 1933 in Utica, a son of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Hayden) Moore. He served his country with honor in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956. On May 30, 1959 at Sacred Heart Church in Utica he was united in marriage to Mary "Pat" Field, a blessed union of over 62 years, filled with much love and mutual devotion.
Mr. Moore was employed with the Rome Lab at Griffiss Air Force Base, retiring after many years of dedicated service.
He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Whitesboro, and the St. Joseph & St. Patrick Adoration. He also was a longtime member of the American Legion in Albany, NY.
He was loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who cherished the time that he spent with his family. Especially his adored children and grandchildren who meant the world to him. He will be sadly missed.
He was predeceased by a son, James P. Moore; brother, Robert Moore; a brother-in-law, Robert Witte; and a sister-in-law, Jane Field.
The family wishes to sincerely thank the staff of St. Luke's Home for the wonderful care and compassion given to Mr. Moore during his stay there.
Funeral services will be on Monday at 11:30 AM at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 16 Park Ave., Whitesboro where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment with Military Honors will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Whitesboro. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Dimbleby Funeral Homes Inc. 40 Main St., Whitesboro.
