James Howard Hunt, age 62, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022. James was born September 18, 1959 in Oklahoma City.

A visitation for James will be held Monday, May 9, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bill Merritt Funeral Service, 6201 Northwest 39th Expressway, Bethany, OK 73008. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, May 10, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 8701 Northwest Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK 73162.

Lifelong Oklahoma City resident, James Howard Hunt, age 62, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022. Jimmy was born September 18, 1959 in Oklahoma City to Jim and Dee Hunt. He graduated from Putnam City High School in 1977. Jimmy was a lover of all sports, especially OU Football and the OCU Chiefs/The Stars Basketball. He was a bowler, having bowled on many leagues throughout his life. He also enjoyed playing and coaching softball, as well as racquetball. Jimmy worked many years with his parents who owned a successful Oil and Gas company. After his father passed away, he continued to help with the business until his health would no longer allow. Jimmy had a huge, yet stubborn, heart and would do anything he could to help the people he cared about. He was part of a group of friends from high school that are still friends today. He loved being funny, loved to talk, tell tall tales, make people laugh, and leave hilarious phone messages.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

His is survived by his cousins, Julie Peacock, Christy Grant, Cindy Smith, Elaine Walters, Linda Twist, Janet Hunt, Margaret Young, and Grady Clanton.

Visitation will be 5pm-8pm Monday, May 9, 2022 at Bill Merritt Funeral Service.

Graveside services will be 2pm Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
