James was united in marriage to Joanne Scheele on Feb. 11, 1956. They had six children: twins, Donald (Theresa) and Ronald (Sandra), twins, Timothy and Thomas, Suzanne and Deanne (Alan); grandchildren: Nickole, Amber (Aaron), Stacy (Paul), Jordan (Courtney), Alex and Randi (Bethany); and great-grands: Milana, Stella, Callahan, Ivy, Ruslan, Twyla and Weller. He has a brother, Jerry (Barbara); and sisters-in-law, Gwenlyn (Robert) and Rebecca (Oscar).
After retiring from truck driving, Jim owned and operated Schultz's Sharp Edge and drove school bus for many years. He was a Black Earth volunteer fireman for over 40 years.
Graveside service will be at Valley Home Cemetery.
