Mary Ann Gehring Graber, 100, died Monday, May 2, 2022, at the Kearny County Hospital in Lakin, Kansas. She was born January 7, 1922, in McPherson County, Kansas the daughter of Christian J.C. & Anna B. (Stucky) Gehring.

Mary grew up and attended schools in Moundridge, Kansas, where she graduated from high school. On August 3, 1947, she married Marvin J. "Merf" Graber in Moundridge, Kansas. They moved to Kingman, Kansas where they lived until 1973. They moved to Lakin, Kansas in 1973 and have lived in Lakin since. A homemaker, Mary enjoyed fishing, playing marbles, playing Pitch, bowling, yardwork, gardening, and her flowers. She especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren and great grandchildren's events and was an avid KU Basketball fan. Mary was a member of the Kingman Mennonite Church in Kingman, Kansas; and associate member of the Lakin United Methodist Church; and Gideons International.

Survivors include a daughter Pat & husband Terry Mitchell of Lakin, Kansas; two grandchildren Tim & wife Deb Mitchell of Lakin, Kansas and Tracy Lamb of Lakin, Kansas; five great grandchildren Lauryn & husband Oscar Troost, Kailey Lamb, Jake Mitchell, Joe Mitchell, & Jayden Mitchell; and one great great grandchild Stori Troost. Mary is preceded in death by her husband Marvin who died on October 14, 1999. She is also preceded in death by her parents; a son Ronnie Graber; three brothers Ray Gehring, Charlie Gehring, & Homer Gehring; and three sisters Viola Stucky, Lillie Krehbiel, & Elsie Schrag.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at the Lakin United Methodist Church with Rev. Ivan Milosi and Rev. Tod Anthony officiating. Burial will follow at the Lakin Cemetery in Lakin, Kansas. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Garnand Funeral Home in Lakin. The family suggests memorials given to Gideons International or to High Plains Retirement Village, both in care of the funeral home.
