Wilhelmina (Wilma) Anna Weidenfeller was born on February 22, 1910, in the small town of Wayland, Michigan. Her parents, Hanora and Adam moved the entire family to Tujunga, California in 1922 in order to rehabilitate Wilma's younger sister, Norine Weidenfeller (which tragically didn't work as Norine passed away 9 months after the move). Wilma attended Glendale Union High School 1927-1930 and was active with the volleyball, speedball, basketball, and hockey team. She even signed her name on one of the school yearbooks (see below).

After graduating from high school, Wilma went to Queen of Angels Hospital and graduated as a nurse. She married Edward W. Kane in 1939 and eventually had a son, Edward Joseph Kane, in 1946. The Kanes lived in Tujunga well up into the early 1950s on Greely St (next door Elizabeth Bettis, Wilma's youngest sister). From what I can tell in the records, Wilma worked at Olive View Hospital.

Sometime in the early 1950s, Mrs. Kane was hired at Newhall Community Hospital and moved the family up there (it looks like Hanora moved to Newhall as well around this time). What seemed to be out of nowhere, Wilma got sick and passed away on September 6th, 1952. She was buried on Sept 9th, next to her father and sister at VHC.
