He was born April 18, 1943, in Bremerton, Washington to James R. and Helen H. (Coerber) Perry.
He married Marilynn R. (Whittington) Perry on March 26, 1966, in Ft. Collins, Colorado, she survives.
David was a 1961 graduate of Moffat County High School in Craig, Colorado, received his B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University and his master's degree from Bradley University in Peoria, IL.
He had been a design engineer for Caterpillar in Peoria, IL for thirty-six years.
David was an active member of Bethany Baptist Church in Edwards, IL, and also served in the Promise Keepers movement. He and his wife also served as Grief-Share facilitators for eight years. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and Silhouette Competition. His hobbies included running, following Formula One racing, attending Southern Gospel concerts, and traveling with his wife.
Survivors include his loving wife Marilynn R. (Whittington) Perry of Greenwood, IN, a daughter Tricia D. Sickmeier (John) of Greenwood, IN, Lou and Stacey DiGrazia of Elgin, IL; ten grandchildren: Nathan Sickmeier, Christian Sickmeier, Laura Sickmeier, Aaron Sickmeier, Jonathan Sickmeier, David DiGrazia (Hailey), Elizabeth "Dev" DiGrazia, Daniel DiGrazia, Jonathan Gerber and Rowen Gerber, three brothers LeRoy James Perry (Toloa) of Cazenovia, NY, Bill Perry of Idaho Falls, ID and Ron Perry (Ann) of Cedar Edge, CO and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Sondra L. DiGrazia on October 30, 2004.
Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Greenwood, IN.
