KEVIN DUANE GRAY was the son of Joyce Marie Gray and Charles Hibbler Jr.

He was the maternal grandson of Rev. Dr. Robert Boyd Gray and Mrs. Elvera (Menefee) Gray.

He was the stepson of Rev. Ernest M. Taylor.

After a lengthy illness, he fell asleep in Jesus on Tuesday, May 3, 2022.

"Funeral services are scheduled for 12:00 p.m., Saturday, May 14, 2022, at New Beginnings Interdenominational Christian Church in Marshall, Texas. A viewing will be held on Friday, May 13, 2022, at Peoples Legacy Annex from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Mr. Gray was born August 22, 1958, and he transitioned on May 3, 2022. Arrangements entrusted to Peoples Funeral Home in Marshall, Texas "

"Kevin Duane Gray, 63, went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 3, 2022. He was born in Fort Worth, Texas on August 22, 1958 to Charles Hibbler and Joyce Marie Gray, who preceded him in death.

Kevin was educated in the Fort Worth Independent School District, and he was a graduate of O.D. Wyatt High School in Fort Worth, Texas.

He worked as a store manager for many years. Later, he began working for American Security as a security officer, and he proudly served in this professional capacity until his health began to fail.

Kevin was a dedicated servant to the Lord. He was baptized at an early age at Greater St. Stephens Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas by his grandfather, the late Dr. R.B. Gray. Kevin was a faithful member. His dedication to God and the church strengthened. He was chosen to fulfill the roles, responsibilities and duties as deacon and treasurer within the perspective offices of the church. Kevin was also an active member in the choir. Upon moving to Marshall, Texas, he joined St. Paul Baptist Church under the leadership of his stepfather, the late Rev. Ernest M. Taylor. Kevin continued to remain connected to Christ as his health began to fail later joining Greater Oak Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Otis Amy. Mr. Gray's love of God and to his church was a great joy in his life.

As a pastime, Kevin enjoyed traveling, especially to unique attractions. He loved watching sports and eating his favorite dessert, chocolate cream pie. Thanks be to God for the life of this Christian soldier.

Kevin was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Joyce Marie Gray Taylor; his stepfather, Rev. Ernest M. Taylor; his maternal grandparents, Dr. R.B. and Mrs. Elvera Gray; and his father, Charles Hibbler.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Joe Ann Gray; his brothers, Robert (Gladys) Gray, Phillip (Renea) Gray, Jeffery Simmons, Robert N. Taylor, DuWayne Taylor, and Paul (Loretta) Taylor; his sisters, Jocelyn Culberson, Sonja (Anthony) Davis, Casandra Simmons, Linda Taylor and Ernetta Sparks; his uncle, Rev. Johnny (Ernestine) Gray; his aunts, Robbie Little, Mattie Morris, Vera High, Henrietta Powell, Shirley Gray, and Marcella Gray; two god-sisters; and nine stepchildren dear to his heart; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends."
