Throughout their 64 years of marriage, they made their home in Lyons, Kansas, Russell, Kansas, Hobbs, New Mexico, and Grapevine, TX. Clydell was an Avon lady before her children went to school. Then, she worked for the Russell County Sheriff Office. In June of 1973 the family moved to Hobbs, NM.
Clydell was employed by the City of Hobbs for 19 1/2 years as a police dispatcher and as a Municipal Court Clerk. She retired on December 31, 1992 from public service so that she could be a full time grandma. While living in Hobbs, Clydell was an active member of Taylor Memorial Baptist Church, American Business Women's Association (Publicity Chairman), Pink Ladies (auxiliary of Lea Regional Hospital), a life member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority and the Women's Christian Association, where she served as Special Feature Chairman.
Clydell had a love for helping and loving people and animals. She had horses growing up and dogs all of her life. She had a smile that would light up any room and showed so much grace and class even in the midst of her terminal disease. She fought Alzheimer's with all she had for 11 years.
Clydell was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Stiles.
She is survived by her son, Mike Stiles (Carly) of Hill City, KS and her daughter, Julie Lee (Brian) of Grapevine, TX. She had 5 wonderful grandchildren, Tabitha Haskett (Jason), Jessie Pohlman (Dylan), Missy Balthazor (Justin), Cooper Lee, and Preston Lee. Clydell had 11 fabulous great grandchildren, Kimble Haskett, Kaitlyn Haskett, Karter Haskett, Kora Haskett, Ryann Redinger, Teagan Redinger, Finnley Pohlman, Abrahm Pohlman, Crozby Pohlman, Stiles Pohlman, and Tate Balthazor.
