Katherine K. Welch, age 76, of Council Bluffs passed away on May 1, 2022 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.
Katherine was born on March 1, 1946 in Omaha to the late John and Loretta (Furstenberg) Young. Katherine worked as an Account Clerk for the Iowa Department of Human Services, retiring in 1994. Katherine married James D. Welch on February 22, 1980.
Katherine was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Survivors include husband, James Welch of Council Bluffs; 3 sons, Ron and Liz of Quincy, CA.; Brian Young of Ankeny, Iowa; Ryan Welch of Susanville, CA.; 3 daughters, Dawn and Matthew Barr of Ankeny, Iowa; Laura and Ken Fisher of Sandpoint, Idaho; Lisa Woodward of Sacramento, CA.; 9 grandchildren; brothers, Billy and Beverly Young of CA.; Mike and Kathy Young of Conway, AR.; James Young of Blair, NE.; Patrick Young of Omaha; Thomas and Mona Young of Omaha; sisters, Sally and Paul Pojar; Mary and Leonard Rivera; Barbara Young all of Omaha; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Celebration of Life Visitation on Friday from 5:00 – 7:00PM at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Burial of cremated remains at a later date. Family will direct memorials.
