Barbara A Cotter, age 82, passed away April 28, 2022, in Houston, Texas.
Visitation will be held, Saturday May 7th, 2022 at 11 am, followed by the Funeral services at 12 pm at Sinnott Funeral Home, Gilbert Chapel in Lovilia, Iowa. Burial Services following at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lovilia. Memorial contributions to American Cancer Society or the American Stroke Foundation.
Barb was born on November 30, 1939 in Albia, Iowa, to Orville & Rose Barnes. Barb graduated from Lovilia High School in 1957. After High School, she worked for Northwestern Bell and married Wayne Cotter of Des Moines on September 12, 1959 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Lovilia. The couple lived in Ankeny, Iowa and had three children, Michael, Cynthia and Kimberly. After raising her children, she went on to work for the State of Iowa as an Administrative Assistant and later retired in 2005. In 2007, Wayne and Barb moved to Texas to be closer to their grandchildren.
Barb is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Murphy; grandchildren, Alysha Orris Whitaker, April, Ashley & Brandon Murphy; great grandchildren; Riley, Bentley & Hudson Whitaker and Liam Murphy; sisters, Nancy Blobaum, Janice Friedmeyer & Roberta Lawrence, and her spouse Terry Lawrence.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Rose Barnes; husband, Wayne Cotter, and their children Michael & Cindy Cotter; granddaughter Melissa Orris; brothers-in-law, Reed Blobaum and Jerry Friedmeyer.
