Wilma Clark Plumstead

Wilma Clark Agee Plumstead, 91, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008.

She was a native of Freesmanburg W.Va., and grew up in Ohio, graduating from Greenville High School. Plumstead graduated with a registered nursing degree from Bethesda Hospital School of Nursing in Cincinnati, where she was affiliated with General and Children's Hospital. She also practiced nursing at Georgia Baptist in Atlanta during World War II.

She moved to Mobile in 1953, where she practiced nursing in the office of Dr. Ernest B. Agee Jr., her husband at that time. She later practiced at University of South Alabama Medical Center, in the neonatal unit, until her retirement.

After retiring, she moved to Westminster Village in Spanish Fort. Plumstead was a longtime member of Springhill Presbyterian Church in Mobile, but transferred membership to Spanish Fort Presbyterian. At Westminster, she helped coordinate operation of the facility's thrift store, and was active in other events there. After her marriage in 2000, the couple moved to Fairhope.

She is survived by a sister, Cleo Bales of Wilmington, Ohio, a son: David C. Agee of Pensacola; a daughter: Beverly Agee Young of Panama City, Fla.; stepson, Bart Plumstead of Chicago; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Her first marriage was to Willis Keyes Dick on 5 Aug 1935 in Indiana.
