Stanley Warren Turner, SR. (lovingly called Stan or Jel'low) entered into eternal rest unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at his home in Upper Marlboro, MD.
Stan was born on October 13, 1955, Washington, D.C. He was the first-born son to the late Amos and Sadie (Stevens) Turner.
Stan was educated in the District of Columbia and Prince George's County Public School (PG) systems. He held numerous jobs in the area, including at the Gaylord National Harbor and MGM Resorts as an Entertainment Porter until his retirement.
Stan was known for his contiguous laugh after saying his favorite phase "Watch My Smoke." He was also a risk taker and enjoyed living life on the edge without boundaries. He once laid down in front of a PG County Public School bus to protest school segregation. He loved his Peppermill Village family and was always the life of the party and had jokes or funny stories to tell about his life adventures.
Stan had an impressive clothing wardrobe, including a rare collection of hats, shoes, unique belt buckles, and walking sticks. Let's not forget about his Mr. T rings and chains that dazzled around his neck. When he stepped out, he was fresh and clean.
Stan leaves to cherish, his loving wife of 45 years Bridget (Reeder) Turner; two daughters Shantel (Turner) Wade, Liasia Turner; one son Stanley W. Turner Jr., one son-in-law James M. Wade Jr., two beautiful granddaughters Shamya Wade, and Destin Bryant; one brother Julius Turner; two sisters-in-law Theresa Turner and Leslie (Reeder) Thompson, one brother-in-law Regi Thompson; two nieces Karen Edge (Angelo), Paulette Smith and four nephews William "Henry" Smith (Silver), Bryon "BJ" Moorhead, Jr., Robert "TJ" Reeder, Trevor Thompson; one Goddaughter Tiara Davis; and a host of grand-nieces and nephews, extended family, friends from Peppermill Village and North and South Carolina. Along with his faithful pets Jazzmine and Sebastian.
He was preceded in death by his sister Miriam Smith, and nephew Darrius Turner.
