Mary Jean Hall Ralston, 85, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, April 29, 2022.

Mary Jean was born in Plainville, Georgia on March 15, 1937, the daughter of the late John W. and Lurie K. Hall.

She was a wonderful wife to her husband of 62 years, a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved her family with all her heart and was loved by all who knew her. She was known all over North Georgia for her prize-winning jelly, jams, and relishes. She brought joy to all who stopped by to buy a jar. One of the many ways Mary Jean showed her love was through her wonderful cooking and cakes. Every year on birthdays, she made sure her family got a cake or meal of their choice. When you ate at her home you never left hungry because she always cooked enough to feed an army. Church dinners were a big deal! When she cooked, people feasted on the good southern cooking of fried chicken, fried okra, green beans, corn bread, biscuits, cakes and so much more. She loved big and was always there anytime you needed her. Our hearts are left with a piece missing for now, but we know she is with Jesus and is having a reunion with her mom, dad, infant son, and all her brothers and sisters who are there. She will be missed by all who have crossed paths with her, but we will see her again someday.

Survivors include her husband, JW Ralston; daughters, Linda Timms and her husband Mitchell, Sandra Gibbs and her husband Todd; son, Jay Ralston and his wife Lisa; grandchildren, Justin (Jessica) Timms, Kody Timms (Jonathan DiMarco), Carson (Austin) Sollicito, Noah Gibbs; great-grandchildren, Jay Timms, Lilah Timms, Easton Sollicito, Addie Sollicito, and Parker Sollicito. Nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

A service to celebrate the life of Mary Jean Ralston will be held on Saturday, May 7th at 1:00 PM from Oakman-Ranger United Methodist Church, 397 Oakman Rd NE, Ranger, GA 30734, with Rev. Tom Lanford officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
