MRS. A. MITCHEL, 88, DIES
Amite City, La., July 18, — Mrs. Augustine Mitchel, aged 88, widow of the late Augustus Mitchel(actually Moses Mitchell), and aunt of Harry Howard and the late Frank T. Howard of New Orleans, died at her home here last night. The funeral took place this afternoon from the St. Helena Catholic Church, interment being made in the city cemetery. Rev. Father Beimar conducted the service.
Before her marriage she was Miss Augustine Boulemae, of New Orleans, and was related to some of the most prominent families of that city. She was educated in the Catholic schools of New Orleans and Washington D. C.. She was a sister of Mrs. Charles Howard, of New Orleans. She is survived by a daughter, Miss Cora Mitchel, of Amite; one son Gus Mitchel; two grandsons, Joe Southworth of Denver, and Osmar Southworth of San Francisco; two granddaughters, Miss Laura Mitchel, a nurse in the Presbyterian Hospital in New Orleans, and Mrs. Alma Folks of New Orleans. Her daughter Miss Mitchel, and grandson, Joe Southworth, were with her when the end came.
