Michael S. "Mike" Anderson, age 43, of Elwood, passed away after a life-long struggle with an illness.

He is survived by his mother, Joyce Shea Anderson of Elwood; one sister, Danna (Ricky) Thayer of Joliet; one brother, Todd (Tammy) Anderson of Elwood; three nephews, Dane Thayer, and Cole and Cade Anderson; two aunts, Lois Anderson and Donna Eyre; and one uncle, Gary (Carol) Anderson.

Preceded in death by his father, Steven Anderson; paternal grandparents, Arthur and Helen Anderson; and maternal grandparents, Pat and Elizabeth Shea; two uncles, Tom Eyre and Paul Anderson.

Mike graduated from Joliet East class of 1983. He worked as a carpenter for a number of years. He loved to fish and hunt for arrowheads. He was an avid Cubs fan and card player.

A future memorial service is being planned.

Memorials in Mike's name to the Morning Star Mission would be appreciated.
