Funeral services for Howard E. Miller, 84, of El Reno will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Shane Carrington minister of the Southside church of Christ in Sulphur Springs, Texas officiating. Burial will follow in the El Reno Cemetery. Come and go viewing will be held at the funeral home Monday, May 2 from 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Howard was born March 23, 1938 in Geary, OK to Herschell and Maudie (Boyer) Miller and passed away April 29, 2022 peacefully at home surrounded by his family.

Howard married Cleta Carmichael on November, 16, 1957 in the El Reno Courthouse. From this union came their three children, Lisa, Mark, and Matthew. In 1961 he enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1967. He was a devoted Christian who spent most of his life serving as a church of Christ minister. In 1979 Howard and Cleta moved back to El Reno where he opened Century Printing and ran his business for years. He later began raising and training horses, and light farming. He was a longtime member and former President of the El Reno Wrangler Roundup Club, and a member of the Elm Street church of Christ.

Howard enjoyed woodworking, painting, golfing, and horseback riding. He especially loved spending time with his family and looked forward to their weekly after church lunches on Sundays.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Cleta (Carmichael) Miller; and his parents, Herschell and Maudie (Boyer) Miller.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Elliott & husband Wayne; two sons, Mark Miller & wife Shanna and Matt Miller & wife Lacrishia; eight siblings, Ruth Adams, Pauline Pribble, Herman Miller, Betty Parker, Shirley Ann Beck, Bonnie Harris, John Miller, and James Miller; sister-in-law, Joyce Wolfe; grandchildren, Lindsay Arnold & husband Brandon, Bethany Elliott & Christian Brown (Fiancé), Logan Elliott & wife Nicole, Shelby Elliott & Jake Smith (Fiancé), Meredith Miller, Keygen Kingston, & Madison Miller; and six great-grandchildren, Bella, Emma, Lilly, Desi, Easton, and Beck.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Howard's name to Russel Murray Hospice.
