George R. Howard, 83, of Shelburn passed away on April 30, 2022 at Harrison Crossing in Terre Haute. He was born in Shelburn on December 25, 1938 to Roy and Myrtle (Ervin) Howard. George was a member of Souls Harbor Church and had worked for Sullivan County. He was an avid deer and elk hunter and a farmer, He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Donald, Harold, Wade, Pete, Herschel, and sisters Iona Irvin, Marilyn Young.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years Brenda (Bedwell) Howard, sons Steve (Amy) Howard, Allen (Angie) Howard, daughters, Amy (Fred) Freeman, Cindy (Marion) Howard Star, Jessy Kimmel, a sister Geniveve Bailey, grandchildren, Steven Howard, Ashley Mosher, Allen Howard Jr., Amber Jones, Brentni Lehr, Lacey Woods, Lindsey Leckey, Nathaniel Arguello, Catrina DeLeon, several great grandchildren, and other family and friends.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday May 5, 2022 at Souls Harbor Church with pastor Darren Thrasher officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday May 4, 2022 at Holmes Memorial Chapel from 4-8:00 p.m. Burial will be at Little Flock Cemetery.
