Hardin Matron Dies in Hospital Mrs. Jessie Scofield Bennett. 64. of Hardin died in a Billings hospital at 6:30 a.m. Saturday. She had been hospitalized three days. A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Scofield, she was born May 17, 1886 at Fullerton, and came to Hardin in June 1910 from Nebraska. She had been a resident there since.
She was married to John Bennett in Hardin May 19, 1912. Mr. Bennett died In Hardin In 1949. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Julia Butkay of Brldger and Mrs. Mary Froese of Los Angeles: a sister. Mrs. Grace Garrison of Hardin; a brother, Marlon Scofield, and a granddaughter. A former teacher, Mrs. Bennett was a member of the Montana Education association, the Methodist church of Hardin, the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Hardin Methodist church at 2 pm. Tuesday by the Rev. R. Ludden, pastor. Burial will be In Hardin cemetery..
