His strong beliefs and faith ensure that he will walk in heaven with god. He graduated from Gordon High school. He then followed high school to his NFL career with the Atlanta Spartans until an unfortunate knee injury put him out of the game. He met the love of his life Wanda in College Park, Georgia. They were married on May 20, 1975. Ronnie and Wanda have been married for 47 years. They had 3 children, Ray Ellis, Janet Canaday (Kevin), and Scott Campbell (Mitzi). 4 grandchildren, Renotta Jernigan, Krystal Green (James), Brittney Ellis Ryan (Eric), and Kristen Canaday and 9 great grandchildren. Ronnie and Wanda moved frequently during his lengthy career and have many lifelong friends throughout the country. Ronnie retired in 2014 from VA, MD, DE Association Electrical Coop and went to Mecklenburg Electric and retired from there in 2017 after a 55 year career in the power industry.
