Eileen was born on May 3, 1921 to Leon and Eva C. Goodwin in Springvale where she grew up and attended local schools. She live at the Goodwin homestead on Main Street in Springvale for her entire life until she moved to Shapleigh five years ago to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Robert Ferguson.
Eileen worked at various jobs throughout her life. She was employed in the office at Pioneer Plastics. When the company moved from Sanford to Auburn she would stay in Auburn during the week and travel home on weekends to help her parents. She retired from Nasson College after working for several years in the accounting department. Eileen had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Springvale and the SERECO Club. She was a life member of the Ruth Chapter #14, OES where she had held many offices and served as Worthy Matron twice. She enjoyed oil painting and during her retirement she taught crafts at the Trafton Center for a number of years.
Surviving are two children, Joyce E. Ferguson and her husband Robert W. of Shapleigh and Marvin R. Stritch and his wife Linda D. of Sanibel, Florida and Wells, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
