Mrs. Shelia Gill Powell was born to the late Ruby William Byrd and Lester Gill on March 14, 1959 in Charlotte, NC Mecklenburg County. Shelia made a Heavenly transition on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at White Oak Manor, Kings Mountain, NC.
Sheila attended Highland Elementary School. At the age of 7 years old, her family relocated to Philadelphia, PA where she attended Shaw Middle School. She graduated from West Philadelphia High School. Sheila was employed with Pharr Yarn, Arm Tech, American Effird and Gaston Memorial Hospital as a Housekeeper until she became ill.
Preceding her in death are: her mother; Ruby William Byrd, father; Lester Gill, grandmother; Bessie Young, grandfather; Abraham Johnson, and godfather Oscar W. Burris.
Sheila is survived by her husband, William Powell. She leaves to cherish her memories: two children; Aja Powell, Rahsaan Powell, four grandchildren; Ya-Shane Jefferson, Nicholas Crawford, Shawndasia Powell, Tru Powell Edwards, five sisters; Sharon Stackston (Glenn), Stanley, NC, Vanessa B.
