Son of Frank Cleveland Goble and Maggie Goble. He left home to join the U.S. Army at age 17 in 1939 only to be captured by Japanese forces on the Bataan peninsula. He survived the Bataan Death March and 3½ years of Japanese captivity. He was liberated from captivity in September of 1945 and married Edna Marie Crum in March of 1946. After working for 40+ years for the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Jackson, MI, he retired to Fayetteville, AR, Frankfort, KY, and lastly Atlanta, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 73 years, Edna; four brothers and five sisters. Surviving are his three children, Diana Dorian (David), Marwin Goble (Nancy) and Timothy Goble (Susan); seven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren; brother, David Goble; and sister-in-law, Ann Crum.
