Carol Anne Goddard, 70, of Florahome, FL passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on December 4, 2007 at the Dr. Gaston J. Acosta-Rua Center for Caring in Jacksonville following a short illness. Carol was born March 23, 1937 in Providence, RI to the late Albert E. and Gwendolyn Wakefield Skog. She was predeceased by brothers Albert E. Jr., George A., a baby Richard and a sister Claire. Carol was a 1957 graduate of the Rhode Island School of Nursing and recently attended the 50th reunion of her nursing class. A navy wife for thirty years and a resident of Jacksonville for eighteen of those years, Carol resided in Florahome since 1990, where she enjoyed camping, traveling, retirement and being an active member of the Florahome United Methodist Church. Her constant smile, which she continued to share with visitors during her final illness, will always be a part of our memories of her.
Survivors include her loving husband of 48 years, Glen, devoted children David and Elizabeth (Richard) Spurgeon, both of Orange Park, five grandchildren (Jennifer, Shannon, Shaun, Allison and Cassidy), two great-grandchildren (Hannah and Hayden), six nieces and three nephews.

The family wishes to express its sincere appreciation and thanks to the staffs of the Dr. Gaston J. Acosta-Rua Center for Caring and St. Vincent's Medical Center, as well as to Dr. Ashutosh A. Pradhan who cared for Carol during her illness.

Funeral services will be held at the Russell Baptist Church, 2299 Sandridge Road, Green Cove Springs on Friday, December 7, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. Viewing and visitation will precede the service by one hour. Interment will follow at the Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery, 2315 Sandridge Road.
