Beverly 'Bev" Joan Gallagher passed away peacefully in Bakersfield, California on April 11, 2022, after a long battle with lung cancer.
She is survived by her amazing and faithful husband, William M. "Bill" Gallagher.
She was the daughter of Beatrice Roberts Rosencrance and the granddaughter of Leslie Roberts. She was the youngest of three children and grew up on Roberts Lane in Milford, Pennsylvania.
She graduated from Delaware Valley high School in 1962 and held the friendships of her classmates very close to her heart.
Bev spent most of her career as secretary at First national Bank of Pike County. She was the first smiling face you would see when you walked in the door.
She never knew a stranger; she was full of life and loved to talk to everyone she met. She loved country music, westerns and coffee.
She was very active in the Milford community and served as member and deacon at First Presbyterian Church of Milford, member and secretary of Pike County Republican committee, and was active with the local chapters of the American Heart Association, American Legion, and the Vietnam Vets motorcycle Club.
In April of 2000, Bev and Bill moved to Los Angeles to spend their retirement years near their daughter and future grandchildren. They explored small towns of California to find their forever home and eventually settled in Tehachapi, California, a small town at the foot of the Sierra Mountains. Bev loved to share that Tehachapi meant the land of four seasons. Bev was active in the Tehachapi VFW woman's auxiliary.
Bev, Bill and their animals were always up for a drive - Bev spent many years driving the breakdown vehicle behind the VNVMC and each year they drove cross-country to spend summers in Dingmans Ferry and at their campground in Mifflintown. They also spent years driving city to city enjoying the First Marine Corps Division reunions.
Bev was always so proud of her family and looked forward to seeing them each year at their annual family reunions. She leaves behind her husband of 38 years, William
"Bill" Gallagher; daughters, Kathleen Marinacco-DeAangelo [Brian] of Los Angeles, Jackie Wolters [Jeff] of Stratham, New Hampshire, Jennifer Gallagher Fass [Adam] of Dingmans Ferry; seven loving and talented grandchildren, Franklyn and Hudson Marinaccio Moreshead, Erik and Liam Fass, Thomas and Nathan Wolters, Rachel Wolters Bilodeau [Delaney]; her siblings, Leslie Stewart Rosencrance [Christine] of Honesdale; Kathryn Baumgardner [Chuck} Campbell, of New York; James Gallagher [Irene} of Dingmans Ferry; her nieces and nephews, Lori Ann Rosencrance hines, Lynn Rosencrance Elko[Don], Luke Rosencrance [Baby] , Chucky Baumgardner [Gina] , Danny Baumgardner [Jacki], Theresa Baumgardner, Nocole Gallagher Vitale[Anthony] and Samantha Gallagher McLean [Billy]
She was preceded in death by her first husband Frank V. Marinaccio III, and her mother Beatrice Rosencrance.
In lieu of a funeral, the family has planned a Celebration of Live service for July 16, at Lake Labar Beaverbrook Rod and Gun Club. Please contact [email protected] for more details.
Donations can be made in her name to any American Legion, VFW, American heart Association, or American Cancer Society.
