Private funeral service for Eula Maxine (Wood) Smith was August 3, 2020 at Wilson Mortuary Chapel, Salem, with Gary Ellis and Jim Wood officiating. Interment was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Willie Strader, Chris Puff, Mike Wood, Jimmy Puff, Brady Strader and Presley Strader. Honorary pallbearers were Jim Puff and Michael McGinty.

Mrs. Smith was born April 27, 1934 in Shannon County to Henry and Sarah (Thomas) Wood. She married Lawrence Smith May 18, 1951. They were the parents of three children. Mrs. Smith died August 1, 2020 in Washington at the age of 86 years.

Survivors include her husband, Lawrence Smith, Washington; daughters, Linda Strader McGinty and husband, Michael, Wentzville; and Debbie Puff and husband, Jim, Washington; son, Larry Smith, Bourbon; sisters, Shirley Wofford, Salem; Thelema Lee Anderson and husband, Earl, Bixby, Oklahoma; and Jeanie Bowen and husband, Jim, Salem; grandchildren, William "Willie" Strader and wife, Stephanie, Salem; Sarah (Strader) Riffer and husband, David, Eagle River, Alaska; and Chris Puff and wife, Christy, Krakow; great-grandchildren, Brady Strader, Presley Strader, Jimmy Puff, Jonathon Puff, Caroline Riffer and Glynna Riffer; and host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, Earl, Emmett, Glen, Ralph, Lloyd and Dorman Wood; sisters, Opal Parker and Elsie Ellis; and grandchildren, Scott Smith and Jamie Puff.

Mrs. Smith was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
