Funeral service for Rita Kay McDonald was July 6, 2018 at Grace Community Church, Salem, with Pastor Shannon Lambert officiating. Special memories were shared by Nathan McDonald. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary, Salem.
Music was provided by Christy Leathers, Gavin McDonald, Natalie Castro, Noah Leathers, Neely Leathers and the GCC Praise Team.
Interment was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Mike Smith, Mark Tune, Willie White, Shea Wood, Loren Wood and Frank Brooks. Honorary pallbearers were Lisa Smith, Sherry Tune, Nicole White, Sally Wood, Kathy Wood and Melissa Brooks.
Mrs. McDonald was born July 21, 1952 in Salem to Marvin and Goldia (Young) Koogler. She married Keith McDonald May 27, 1972. They were the parents of three children. Mrs. McDonald died June 30, 2018 in St. Louis at the age of 65 years.
Survivors include her husband, Keith McDonald, Salem; children, Christy Leathers and husband, Jeff, Salem; Nathan McDonald and wife, Amy, Webb City; and Gavin McDonald and wife, Kylie, Rolla; brother, Gerald Koogler and wife, Jeanette, Licking; sister, Beverly Flanery and husband, Terry, Salem; grandchildren, Natalie Castro and husband, Gabriel; Landon McDonald; Noah Leathers; Neely Leathers; Jacob McDonald; Ayla McDonald; Easton McDonald and Kinley McDonald; and a host of extended family and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and brother, Jerry Koogler.
Mrs. McDonald was a lifelong member of Grace Community Church.
