A Service of Death and Resurrection for Rebecca R. Whitley, 81, will be held Friday, April 29, 2022, at 4:30 P.M. at St. John's United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends Friday, April 29, 2022, from 3:30-4:30 in the Fellowship Hall of St. John's UMC. The Rev. Angela Marshall will be officiating the service.



Ms. Whitley was born March 3, 1941, to the late Robert and Rebecca Riggins in Greensboro, NC. After moving to South Carolina, Ms. Whitley worked as a bookkeeper for many years. She had an immense love of God and her church St. John's UMC. She loved traveling and especially loved the mountains and the ocean. Ms. Whitley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved her friends and family. Ms. Whitley, most enjoyed giving to others. Giving joy brought her joy.



Surviving is her sister Elaine Bestler (Bob); her daughter Lynn Smith (Billy); grandchildren, Rebecca Deloach (Perry), and William Smith; great grandchildren, Whitley Grace Smith, and Perry Buckner Deloach III.



She was predeceased by her parents Robert and Rebecca Riggins.
