James Edward Jordan, 86, of Chesterfield, Va., departed from his life after a brief illness on April 26, 2022. James was preceded in death by parents, Katherine and William Jordan; sisters, Lois Worsham and Constance Jordan; brothers, Richard, William and Thomas Jordan; and grandchild, Terry Pettey. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Mary Gentry Jordan; children, James E. Jordan Jr. (Debbie), Lori Jordan Robertson (Scott), Troy Pettey (Allie) and Michelle Pettey; grandchildren, Chris, Kristen and Kaitlyn Jordan, Casey Lynne and Olivia Robertson, Ashley Lynne Garland, Andrew Parsons and Cassie Pettey; great-grandchildren, James and Hunter Deering. James retired from the Henrico Department of Utilities and proudly served in the United States Army. He lived life with a great sense of humor. He cherished his family and friends who will miss him dearly. The family will receive friends 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 29, at Bliley's - Chippenham. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 30, at Bon Air United Methodist Church. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Wounded Warrior Project or Shriners Hospital for Children.
