Judy Parks-Brucken, Sioux Falls, SD, died February 26, 2022, at Sanford ER. She was 61.

Judy was born May 10, 1960, in Sioux Falls, SD, to Cecil and Doris (Solberg) Rettedal. She attended Sioux Falls public schools, Laura Wilder Elementary, Edison Jr. High School, and had graduated from Washington Senior High School in 1978. During her younger years, Judy played clarinet and was involved in school bands. She also loved playing golf, and spending time at Green Acres Driving Range, her father's driving range in Sioux Falls. She then attended the University of South Dakota, where she earned her Bachelor degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology.

For several years, Judy worked in customer service at the Sioux Falls Argus Leader.

On January 22, 2010, Judy was united in marriage to Steven M. Brucken. The couple made their home in Sioux Falls. Judy continued working as a customer service representative with other retail businesses. She then became a homemaker.

Judy loved music and enjoyed playing the piano. Catching up with friends on Facebook was one of Judy's favorite pastimes. In her free time, she loved, caring for and watching the birds, and tending to her bright and colorful flower gardens. She particularly liked growing purple petunias. An avid reader, Judy would always have a book or magazine nearby.

Happy and fun-loving, Judy will be well missed.
