Clayton Dwight Edwards, age 66, of Anderson, South Carolina passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born October 21, 1955, in Seneca, South Carolina, he was the son of Carl T. Edwards and Ruth C. Edwards. Dwight grew up in Anderson, South Carolina and graduated from McDuffie High School in 1973. He worked as a lineman for Duke Energy before becoming a home builder. Dwight was a past president of the Anderson Home Builders Association. He was also the current president of the West Anderson Water District Board and the former president of Anderson Joint Regional.
Over the years, Dwight had many passions and hobbies, including go-cart racing, car racing, boat racing, team roping, classic car restoration, and being a car enthusiast. However, he was most passionate about his family, being a loving husband and father, and being the best "Poppy" to his two grandchildren. He also had many dear friends that he loved and enjoyed.
Dwight is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Vickie; his daughter, Candice Bradshaw and son-in-law Drew Bradshaw of Anderson; and two precious grandchildren, Emerie and Wells. He is also survived by his sister, Gail Mercer (Joe) of Anderson, and his parents, Carl and Ruth Edwards.
Dwight was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Anderson.
A service will be held Friday, April 29, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. at Sullivan-King Mortuary conducted by Rev. Beverly Crowe Tipton. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
