On the evening of Saturday, April 23, 2022, Larry Dale Taylor entered into his eternal Heavenly home surrounded by his loved ones.

Larry was born August 22, 1945 to the late Frank Taylor and the late Thelma Young Taylor. Each day of his 76 years on this earth has been a blessing to his family and to those who knew him. Larry was born in Haywood County and was proud to call the mountains of Western North Carolina his home. He was employed with Southern Pump and Tank Company in Candler for 45 dedicated years where he made many friendships that have remained an important part of his life. Larry enjoyed sports and he was a great fan of the Pisgah High School Black Bears and the University of North Carolina Tar Heels. A faithful member of Good News Baptist Church, he was indeed an example of a man with a strong unwavering faith. He considered his family to be the greatest blessing in his life and he loved each of them with all his heart and soul. Larry's grandchildren were indeed his pride and joy and they will forever treasure their happy times spent with their grandfather. Let us each remember that when a great man leaves us, the joy and light that he leaves behind him lives on in the paths of those who will miss him and love him forever.

In addition to his parents, Mr.Taylor was preceded in death by his brother, Frank "Bud" Taylor.

Left to hold on to cherished memories and to carry on Larry's legacy is the love of his life, Peggy Sams Taylor, who together they have shared 57 years of a wonderful marriage; his beloved daughters, Melanie Clark and her husband David, and Rhonda Wester and her husband Douglas; his adored grandchildren, Taylor, Trevor, Colton, and Andrew; a sister, Janet Blankenship; a brother, Bruce Taylor and his wife Paula; several nieces and nephews, as well as many dear friends.

Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Taylor will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Good News Baptist Church in Candler. Pastor Steve Smith and Pastor Larry Sprouse will be officiating. We kindly ask that as we celebrate Larry's life please feel welcome to wear the color "Red" in Larry's memory. He would be pleased. The family will be receiving friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral service, and entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Mausoleum located at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Candler. Serving as pallbearers will be David Clark, Doug Wester, Trevor Wester, Colton Clark, and Andrew Wester.
