Graveside services for Mrs. Sidney Carole Smith, age 83, of Springhill, LA, will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, April 28, 2022, at the Mount Moriah Cemetery in Sarepta, LA with Bryon Sanford officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2022, 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Bailey Funeral Home in Springhill, LA.
Mrs. Smith was born on December 22, 1938 to Byron F. and Syble Sanders Cason in Springhill, LA and passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022 in Shreveport, LA. She was a beloved wife, mother, and MiMi and worked most of her life as a nurse. She enjoyed watching western shows. She would often be found bird watching or tending to her gardens. She spent many hours on Lake Erling fishing with her family and she enjoyed adding to her frog collection. In her quiet time, she would be putting together puzzles or coloring. She cared for everyone and if someone needed or wanted anything, she was there. She will be greatly missed by all.
She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Marshall Lee Smith of Springhill, LA; three sons, Sam Brown and wife Zanetta of Paris, TX, Stan Smith and wife Aryam of Palestine, TX, Lee Smith of Gilmer, TX; and daughter, Shay Smith of Sweeny, TX; fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, her daughters, Suzan Foster and Lisa Lynch.
