Mr. Michael " LA Mike" Moore, 59 of Philadelphia, Mississippi passed on Thursday, April 21, 2022 from residence in Philadelphia, Mississippi.
Funeral Services were held 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 28, 2022 from Jerusalem Temple Church in Philadelphia, Mississippi. Burial was in the Donald Rest Cemetery in Philadelphia, Mississippi. Visitation was held 4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 27, 2022 from Beck Funeral Home Philadelphia. Beck Funeral Home Philadelphia was in charge of all arrangements.
He was born August 3, 1962 to Aaron "Coochie" Moore and Alma Jean Grant Moore in Neshoba County, MS. He was a lifelong resident of Philadelphia, MS and was a member of Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church.
In 1994, he joined in holy matrimony to Connie Frances Donald, the daughter of Rudolph Donald and Catherine Gordon Donald, and to this union five beautiful children and one special son were reared.
Mr. Moore worked at East Central Community College for over 30 years and retired in 2020. After retirement, he returned to work part-time with McLain Plumbing. Mr. Moore was an excellent cook who enjoyed baseball, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memories: son, Earthy (Dameshia) Donald, Washington, D.C.; daughters, Lolita (Prentiss) Evans, Hattiesburg, MS; Shakayla Moore & Ciara Moore, Philadelphia, MS; special son, Ontavious T. Moore (Tae), Grand Prairie, TX; Ten (10) Grandchildren; Five (5) Brothers; Seven (7) Sisters; a host of relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by son, Michael De'Angelo "Mike D" Moore; parents, Aaron "Coochie" Moore and Alma Jean Grant Moore; and a brother, Kenneth Moore.
Pallbearers were Terry Evans, Anthony Cunningham, Rodney Jones, Marzett Jordan, Francisco Wilson, and Scottie Wilson. Bishop Stan Jones was the officiating minister.
