Susan Dietz, age 75 of New Ulm died Sunday, April 24, 2022 of complications from Lewy Body Dementia at Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, May 2, 2022 at Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. Inurnment will follow at the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be 3:00-6:00 pm on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – NORTH chapel and will continue one hour prior to Mass on Monday at the church.

Sue is survived by her son, Eric (Stef) Dietz of Madelia; grandchildren, Charlie and Artie Dietz; sister, Karen (Tom) Richter of New Ulm; brothers, Bruce Franta and Brian (Lori) Franta, both of Gibbon; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a stillborn daughter, Katie; brother, Barry Franta.

Susan Kathryn Franta was born September 24, 1946 in New Ulm to Henry and Loretta (Schreiner) Franta. She attended grade school at St. George and was a 1964 graduate of Holy Trinity High School in New Ulm, where she made lifelong friends whom were still very important to her. Susan was united in marriage to John Dietz and this union blessed the couple with one son. Sue was a selfless person and was always working hard at whatever she was doing. Sue dedicated over 35 years to her career at 3M and was a co-chair for over 20 years with Relay for Life. She enjoyed spending time and playing cards with her card club of 45 years. She was a lifelong member of Cathedral of the Holy Trinity. Her greatest joy came later in life, when her grandchildren were born. Sue will be missed by all who knew her. Blessed be her memory.
