Ethel McClerren, 74, of Rt 4, Thompsonville, died at 7:10pm Monday, in Franklin Hospital, Benton. She had been ill for some time.

Born in Thompsonville, Feb 14, 1898, she was the daughter of Marshall and Mae Gettings Jones. Mrs McClerren was a member of Union Free Will Baptist Church, east of West Frankfort Her husband, Herbert, died in 1968.

Surviving: four daughters, Rev Mrs Lloyd Jeffery of Monett, MO; Mae Walker of Henry, June Volhelm of Indianapolis, IN and Rev Mrs Joyce Browning of Rt 1, West Frankfort
Five sons, Carl McClerren of West Frankfort; Bueford McClerren of Mt Vernon, Jewell McClerren of rural West Frankfort, Robert Gene McClerren and the Rev Kenneth McClerren, both of Rt 4, Thompsonville.
Two brothers, Arthur and J E Jones both of Thompsonville.

Burial in Union Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, east of West Frankfort.
