In 1860 Hezekiah L. Lane age 30, wife Elizabeth age 25, and two children resided with his parents. Hezekiah was a farmer and the children were Inez age 2 and Zelina age 7 mos. Parents Meltiah was 59, and Dorcas also 59 and there were siblings Mary A age 19, Rhoda 17 and Daniel age 22. Everyone in the household was born in Maine.

Hezekiah served in the Civil War from Calais, Company F., 22nd Reg Infantry Maine Volunteers. He enlisted Sept 10, 1862 and discharged for disability on Feb 14, 1863 at Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was a musician in service age 33 and married when he enlisted.
After his wife died in 1871 he was in the census with the four children above.
He married Lucy Ann Potter in 1874, daughter of John S. and Thurza (Oliver) Potter of Perry Maine. In the 1900 census in Robbinston Maine, Hezekiah was 76 and wife Lucy A. was 53, born in Canada. Both his daughter Inez Leonard and her husband were deceased and their son Ernest C. Leonard age 13 was living with Hezekiah and Lucy.
Burial record (Maine Veteran's Records) shows burial Red Beach on May 20, 1903, Civil War Soldier.
Note: Hezekiah had two wives. The memorial for wife Elizabeth I have attached him to shows her nickname Lucy which that was the name of the other wife. I do not know where Lucy was buried, she died from cancer in 1905. Her parents are buried in Westlawn in Perry.
