Dale A. Johnson, 75, of Flandreau, SD passed away at his home on Friday, April 22, 2022. Dale was born March 4, 1947, in Watertown, SD to Joseph and Shirley (Steele) Johnson. He was raised at Clear Lake, SD where he graduated from high school. Dale spent several years working summers at Wall Drug. He attended The University of South Dakota in Vermillion where he received his bachelor's degree and he received his master's degree At Augustana College, Sioux Falls. Dale started working as the librarian at the Flandreau Public Schools on August 1, 1972, where he was employed until he retired June 30, 2010. He edited three books on the the history of Flandreau titled "Flandreau Images of the Past." Dale worked on his family genealogy going back many generations. He was a former director of the Moody County Museum and served as a board member for many years. He enjoyed bowling and being a Civil War reenactor.

Dale is survived by four nieces and nephews, Cynthia Johnson, Clear Lake, SD; Vicki (Derek) Benck, Clear Lake, SD; Dr. Keary (Ashley) Johnson, New Ulm, MN and Jon (Amy) Johnson, Brookings, SD. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother and sister-in-law.

A private family burial will be held at Lakeview Cemetery, Clear Lake, SD at a later date.
