He loved to tell stories to his children and grandchildren of his travels and adventures.

Blaine was a very active man. Growing up he loved to play baseball on leagues and he eventually established and coached a baseball team for his son. During his younger days in Iowa, he was an avid pheasant hunter. He enjoyed playing tennis with friends and co-workers. He taught his grandchildren to play tennis and basketball. He loved to go on bicycle rides with his late wife and grandchildren. In retirement, he loved to play golf with friends and neighbors.
