Robert J. "Bob" Ross, 80, went to be with the Lord on April 23, 2022. Bob was a very kind-hearted person, but let you know what he thought.

His goal in life was to make people laugh and he was good at it. He was quick-witted and should have been a stand up comedian.

Mr. Ross gave to many charities, veterans organizations, police, children's hospitals, and he would even stand at his back door to catch city sanitation trucks on their last run before Christmas to make sure they got a gift, as well as for the mailman and paper delivery person. Bob and his wife couldn't have children and he gave a dollar to every child he saw. As he put it, "so mommy can get you an ice cream cone".

Bob was also there for everyone in his family, as well as his wife's family. Bob would give money, or a ride, or even let them borrow his car. Although Bob had health issues early in life, he always had a ready smile for everyone.

He enjoyed playing the guitar and was quite good. He could sing like Johnny Cash and Ernest Tubb.

Bob was employed with Pepsi and walked two miles one way to get to work. Earlier, he worked for Muncie Gear and he and his wife ran two large Star Press newspaper routes in the blizzard of 1978.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 58 years, Alice Ross; his sisters, Barbara Rose Jett, Judy Gillian, and Sharon Fox; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm Thursday, April 28, 2022, at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, with Pastor Denny Helton officiating.

Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery.
