Carl Walter Miller went home to be with the Lord, April 23, 2022 in Avon, Indiana,
just 2 weeks short of 89 years. He was born May 7, 1933 in Mitchell, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, the first child of William E. and Dora (Rosebrock) Miller. He had to drop out of Spring Farm School in eighth grade to help on the family farm. In 2002 at 69 years old he passed his GED with help from his 15 year old granddaughter. He had the honor of speaking at his graduation ceremony. In his younger years he served his country in Wisconsin Army National Guard. He was married May 16, 1959 to Joan Strade at Sheboygan Evangelical Free Church. The family moved to Ravenna, Ohio and later Indianapolis, to where his mom was born and grew up. He drove semi-truck for Consolidated Freightways for 24 years until he was forced to retire in 1979 after he was disabled in a highway crash. He continued to work as a handyman well into his 80's as well as caretaker of his mobile home park. He was an active member of Faith Baptist Church in Danvillie, Indiana where he was an elder and worked with the prison ministry. He had a great sense of humor right to the end of his life. He loved returning to Sheboygan to see family and friends and to go fishing in Lake Michigan. Carl is survived by his four children, Larry (Debbie) Miller, Sherry (Mike) Faulkner, Donna and Diana Miller, all of the Indianapolis area, two brothers, Edward Miller, Brownsville, Tennessee and Marlin (Joy) Miller, Sheboygan; a brother-in-law, Thomas Mueller of Sheboygan Falls; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sibling, Earl Miller, Richard Miller, Ruth Ciske and Martha Mueller as well as a sister-in-law, Angie (Earl) Miller. Visitation will take place Monday May 2, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Flanner Buchanan-Floral Park, 425 North Holt Road, Indianapolis. Entombment will follow at West Ridge Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church, 3860 East Main Street, Danville, Indiana 46122
